In April-May 2024, a dedicated team of colleagues from Cobel Group actively participated in a cleanup initiative covering sections of Ashuradeh Island and Bandar Torkaman. This project was executed in strict alignment with our core commitment to sustainable environmental development, aiming to safeguard the ecological health of this invaluable region.

Key Drivers Behind the Project:

– Ecological Significance: Ashuradeh Island—the sole Iranian island in the Caspian Sea—alongside Bandar Torkaman, constitutes one of the most vital international wetlands in the region, holding immense importance in terms of global environmental indicators.

– Ecosystem Protection: The accumulation of environmental waste profoundly impacts the ecosystem, directly threatening the health, safety, and survival of local flora and fauna.

– Preserving Natural Heritage: Mitigating the degradation of the region’s pristine and untouched natural beauty.

Actions Taken During the Initiative:

– Comprehensive collection and clearing of litter and debris from the coastlines of Ashuradeh Island and Bandar Torkaman.

– Systematic sorting and segregation of the collected waste.

– Safe transportation of the segregated waste to designated municipal disposal centers.
