The 3rd edition of the Dr. Abidi Scientific Award was successfully held, bringing together esteemed physicians, pharmaceutical industry leaders, and prominent researchers. During the event, Nima Bararjanian, CEO of Cobel Group, highlighted the core objectives of the award and the Group’s determination to expand its scope in the coming years.

Addressing the audience, he stated: “Young researchers are the driving force behind knowledge, innovation, and progress. Scientific research not only expands the frontiers of knowledge but also paves the way for the development of novel therapeutic approaches. We are gathered here today to pay tribute to your relentless efforts.”

The laureates of the 3rd Dr. Abidi Scientific Award were officially announced as follows: Dr. Maziar Sabouri in the Cardiology category, Dr. Danial Molavizadeh in the Diabetes category, and Dr. Saman Sargazi alongside Dr. Vahidreza Askari in the Basic Sciences category. Furthermore, in the Selected Articles section, Dr. Amirhossein Sahebkar (Basic Sciences), Taha Aghajani (Fatty Liver), and Dr. Soroush Masrouri (Cardiology) were highly commended for their outstanding research contributions.

In another segment of his keynote address, the CEO of Cobel Group reviewed the Group’s current operations and unveiled major upcoming initiatives. “In the near future, a dedicated Innovation Center will be inaugurated within the Group,” he announced. “Through this dynamic platform, we hope to establish closer, synergistic relationships with medical universities and private research institutions.” He further revealed the imminent launch of Cobel Group’s new Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacturing plant, named “Avan Shimi.”

In the concluding segment of the ceremony, a special tribute was paid to Dr. Ahmadreza Dehpour, Distinguished Professor of Pharmacology at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) School of Medicine, honoring his 48 years of continuous and highly impactful academic and scientific endeavor.

Speaking to the attendees, Dr. Dehpour pointed out the existing gap between the pharmaceutical industry and academia, praising the Dr. Abidi Scientific Award for bridging this divide and urging other companies to follow suit. He emphasized: “The pharmaceutical industry is often unaware of the profound achievements happening within universities. Industry and academia must forge an organic and vital connection; otherwise, neither will truly achieve excellence.”
